The Archaeological Park of Lost City is located on the north face of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta in the upper part of the Buritaca river basin, between nine hundred and one thousand two hundred meters above sea level.

The Lost City is a majestic place, due to the particularity of its landscapes, ecosystems, biodiversity and architecture, built thousands of years ago by the disappeared Tayrona culture.

Itinerary

1 DAY - DEPARTURE FROM SANTA MARTA TO EL MAMEY

Departure from Santa Marta to the Mamey by jeep (3 hours approx). Upon arrival at the Mamey, an meeting is made and lunch is taken. Machete treeking begins towards the first Adam or Alfredo cabin. During the tour we have natural pools offered by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and in which we will take a refreshing swim, which will make it more pleasant to continue the walk, which is approximately 4 to 5 hours.

2 DAY - INDIGENOUS TERRITORY ENTRY

Breakfast is taken around 6 am to start the trek at 8:00 a.m. from the first Adan or Alfredo cabin to the third Paraiso Teyuna cabin. During this tour you will pass through the indigenous village of the Kogui ethnic group, Mutanyi;  where we will get some information about the community. The walking time of this day is 8 to 9 hours (14 Kms).

3 DAY - DISCOVERING LOST CITY

Start the trek at 7:00 am, after having breakfast, departing from Paraíso Teyuna towards Ciudad Perdida approximately 1 hour, when you arrive at the destination, you will be recognized by the archaeological area and you will be visiting and knowing this magical place by approximately 3 hours accompanied by specialized guides on the subject. After the tour in the Archaeological Park, you will start to descend to Paraíso Teyuna to have lunch and then start the walk to the second Wiwa cabin where you will spend the third night.

DAY 4 - DESCENDING

Early departure from the second Wiwa cabin to the first Adam or Alfredo cabin, approximately 4 to 5 hours (7 km), here you will spend the fourth night and you can enjoy a nice swim in the natural pools of this place.

DAY 5 - RETURN TO SANTA MARTA

The return of the first Adam or Alfredo cabin begins to the mamey. Travel time of approximately 4 to 5 hours, upon arriving at Mamey you will enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on the return to Santa Marta, where this wonderful adventure will end.

NOTE:

During days 4 and 5, the plan might have a few surprises. You know, the weather and how the group feels at that moment can shake things up. So, depending on what the guide decides, we could, for example, have lunch at the Cascades Camp and then continue the hike towards Freddy's Cabin or the Bridge Cabin. We'd spend the fourth night there, and the next day, the adventure would wrap up at El Mamey. So, keep an open mind for any unexpected twists and get ready to enjoy to the fullest!
