The Lost City in Santa Marta also known as Buritaca 200, name given thanks to its location on the northern slope of the Buritaca River and for the number of settlements found for the year 1976. It is a scenario to discover the charms of nature where the past is confused with the present through its fauna and flora that surrounds the archaeological zone.

Itinerary

1 DAY - SANTA MARTA - EL MAMEY - CAMP 1

It all starts around 9:00 am in the office where in a 4 × 4 truck we take the road for approximately 3 hours to the Mamey or Machete Pelao region, where we have lunch and then start the search for the sacred place of the Tayronas (old inhabitants of the Lost City). At the end of the afternoon we arrive at Camp 1, in its surroundings we will find rivers, natural pools, waterfalls for a moment of relaxation, then we will have dinner and there will be accommodations prepared in hammocks or beds to rest and spend the night.

2 DAY - CAMP 1 - CAMP 2

We get up very early, have breakfast and then start the walk to descend to the valley of the Buritaca River, finding some indigenous houses that make up a small town known as Mutanyi (Kogui Indigenous People), then continue the walk to the cabin where we will spend the second night accommodated in hammocks or beds with counters.

3 DAY - CAMP 2 - CAMP 3

Start the walk of 4 hours and a half after having breakfast, starting from the 2 camp to the 3 Paraiso Teyuna camp, at this point we will find ourselves near our magical and archaeological place «Lost City». Before arriving at our 3 camp we will enjoy a delicious bath in one of the rivers, we will appreciate the flora and fauna that we will find along the way. Then we will have time to rest and at night we will share stories and adventures that our guide will tell us.

DAY 4 - CAMP 3 - LOST CITY - CAMP 2

Very early we have breakfast, to begin the ascent towards Lost City, we start climbing 1,200 steps that take us to the magnificent ruins of the Tayrona Empire, we find ourselves with cobbled roads built by them, stairs and walls interconnected by a series of terraces and platforms on which ceremonial centers, houses and food storage sites were built. While in Teyuna, the guide will show us and give information about this mystical and enigmatic place, full of relics and ancestral stories, we will spend the morning enjoying the landscapes of the destination, having enough time to enjoy this place and take pictures, finally we will go down to our 3 camp where we will have lunch and continue the same way back to reach Camp 2 where we have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 5 - CAMP 2 - CAMP 1

We have breakfast at 6:30 a.m. taking the road at 07:00 a.m. back, and we enjoy lunch in the cabin near Mutashi continuing the tour through the mountains until we reach Camp 1, where we will have dinner and rest for the night.

DAY 6 - CAMP 1 - EL MAMEY

The last day of the adventure begins by having breakfast to continue the way back to the point where it all started, through the road will find rivers and waterfalls to cool down, until finally we reach the Mamey town, where we will have lunch and the van will wait for us to return the city of Santa Marta where we will arrive around 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm. Having totally enjoyed an enriching new experience in the magical Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
